Dr Kamala Guttikonda (Mona Vale, Gosford)

Dr Kamala Guttikonda founded TED clinics in Mona Vale and Gosford in 2001 to fulfil the demand for Endocrinology services in Northern Beaches and Central Coast. She is a Consultant Endocrinologist in Northern Beaches Hospital, Frenchs Forest and Visiting Endocrinologist with NSW Rural Doctors Network providing telehealth services to Walgett Aboriginal Medical service in Far West NSW. She is a Clinical senior lecturer at Macquarie University.

She underwent her training in Endocrinology at Westmead Hospital and spent several years in clinical research on iodine nutritional status of pregnant women and children.

In 2005, Dr Guttikonda was appointed as Honorary Medical officer in Endocrinology in Manly Hospital and developed a collaborative model of care in Manly Hospital Maternity unit for Northern Beaches pregnant women with Gestational Diabetes. After 13 years, this clinic relocated in October 2018 to Northern Beaches Hospital, Frenchs Forest.

She has a depth of experience in Thyroid disorders and Pregnancy related Endocrine disorders including Gestational Diabetes. Her interests include Diabetes, Insulin Resistance, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Adrenal disorders, Menopause and Osteoporosis. She is an advocate for disease prevention and promotes lifelong good health.

She provides holistic, compassionate and patient centered care with an emphasis in incorporating patient preferences, goals and plans. To achieve good patient outcomes, she communicates and works closely with her patients, General practitioners and other health professionals.

She is very committed to rural and remote medicine and is involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers including medical and nursing students, junior doctors, and other allied health practitioners.  She continues to participate in clinical research and in the development of guidelines and protocols with a focus on patient safety.

She regularly attends national and international meetings and has been a guest speaker in numerous forums and meetings.

Dr Weng Sam (Mona Vale)

Dr Weng Sam is a highly skilled and experienced Endocrinologist with special interests in Type 1 and 2 diabetes including Insulin Pump therapy, Thyroid disorders,  Male Endocrinology, Obesity,  PCOS,   Pituitary disorders, Osteoporosis and Adrenal disorders.  

He completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Sydney and was awarded MBBS in 1993 and the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2001.

He has been a Consultant Endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Diabetes Centre since 2004. He has published in the areas of diabetes and metabolic disease and was Co-Investigator in the ADVANCE (Diabetes) study.

He provides evidence-based compassionate and patient centered care.
